Toddler seriously injured in High Street accident

  • The High Street was closed for several hours following the accident
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a toddler was hit by a car on the High Street on Monday afternoon.

The two year-old girl was struck by a silver Fiat Punto at around 4.30pm, and was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

The road was closed for several hours between the junction with Broad Street and Stenhouse Street until 7.30pm, while investigations were carried out.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the incident to contact them on 01592 251111.
