An early goal set Cowdenbeath on the way to a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Queen of the South

Paul Burns strike after just three minutes set the Doonhamers on their way, and the visitors added a second on 54 minutes through Derek Holmes.

Marc McKenzie's 30-yard screamer 10 minutes later got the Blue Brazil back into the game, but five minutes from time Queens sealed the points with a goal from Ryan McGuffie.

Cowdenbeath are back in action on Saturday 28th August when they welcome Partick Thistle to Central Park in division one action. Kick off is at 3pm.
