Growing up in Cowdenbeath
I lived at No 1 Mungall Street during 1954-1955 after which time we moved to 15 Maxwell Crescent where the 'new houses' were built.
Mungall Street was a single dead-end street to the north of Foulford Road with it's junction onto Foulford Road located just about where the entrance driveway is to Beath School nowadays.
I left Maxwell Crescent, and Cowdenbeath in 1960 to join the Royal Air Force as an Apprentice engine fitter. When I retired from the RAF in 1977 I became a secondary school teacher and now retired living in Dorset, England...which is where my wife Jean comes from.
My mothers family are the Brownlies who lived in different parts of Cowdenebath ...all miners with Jim Brownlie being a senior member of the local St Andrew's First Aid also very much part of the Mine's Rescue.
